Jake represents employers facing litigation and administrative agency actions brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and various other state laws. Jake advises owners, directors, officers, and human resource professionals regarding best practices in labor and employment law with an eye towards mitigating exposure and establishing and maintaining a fruitful working relationship between employers and their employees.
Prior to joining Troester Sharpe, Jake worked at a large international law firm where he represented clients in a wide range of commercial civil litigation matters in both federal and state courts with a particular emphasis on defending and prosecuting claims related to the violation of restrictive covenants and the misappropriation of trade secrets and other confidential business information.
Jake earned his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. In law school, Jake worked as a Judicial Extern to the Chief Judge of the Northern District of Illinois where he worked on a variety of complex civil and criminal cases, drafted opinions, and advised the Chief Judge on motions and other matters pending before her. Additionally, Jake served as a Lead Articles Editor of the Loyola University of Chicago Law Journal. Jake earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
